Imphal, October 28 2025: Chairperson of Lairenkabi Kadangband Gram Panchayat N Bobby has refuted "claims" that drinking water has been made available to 50 households of Lamlongei including the primary school and three Anganwadi Centres under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme.

During a press conference held today at Lamlongei community hall organised by the Lamlongei Development Youths Club, N Bobby has urged the relevant authority to issue a clarification in this regard within 10 days and threatened to initiate intense forms of agitation otherwise.

Speaking to media persons, the Lairenkabi Kadangband GP Chairperson asserted that till date, tap water connection has not been installed in a single household in Lamlongei under JJM scheme.

In fact, the laying of water pipes has not even been completed here, he said.

Addressing a recent Google upload which alleged that drinking water has been successfully provided in the area, the Lairenkabi Kadangband GP Chairperson called it a move to tarnish the reputation of honest Panchayat officials and sow seeds of discord among the local people.
