MTU partners with six colleges to enhance environmental sustainability & resource management

Manipur Technical University (MTU) today hosted a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony at its Conference Hall, formalizing collaborations with six leading colleges to enhance environmental sustainability and resource management.
MTU entered into MoU with six institutions namely Chanambam Ibomcha College (CI College), Bishnupur; Imphal College, Imphal; DM College of Teacher Education, Imphal; Nambol L Sanoi College, Nambol; Modem College, Imphal; and Kha-Manipur College, Kakching.
Under the agreements signed today, MTU will provide specialized services in: Green Audit- Comprehensive assessment covering Energy, Water, Solid Waste, and E-Waste management aimed at developing sustainable campuses; and Groundwater Detection- Utilizing advanced PQWT-TC900 technology for precise aquifer mapping and borewell site identification.
As per a release issued by MTU, these initiatives support compliance with NAAC Criterion 7.1.6, AICTE Environmental Policy, and UGC Green Campus Guidelines, aiding partner colleges in accreditation readiness and sustainable development.
MTU also announced an ambitious roadmap for offering additional consultancy and technical services to partner institutions, including NonDestructive Testing (NDT) for structural health assessment, Geodetic Survey & Cadastral Mapping integrated with GIS-based planning tools.
Preparation of Master Plan Layouts for academic and infrastructure development, and Digital literacy and ICT-based programs for campus modernization.
At the event, the Registrar of MTU, underscored the university's commitment to leveraging technology and expertise to support institutional growth.
The IQAC Coordinator elaborated on how these collaborations will strengthen accreditation metrics while promoting sustainable development practices.
Principals of the participating colleges expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and its longterm benefits.
The program concluded with felicitation of dignitaries, formal MoU exchange, and a lab demonstration showcasing MTU's consultancy facilities.
