Newly commissioned officers of Manipur honoured

Kakching/Moirang, June 27 2025: Two proud sons of Kakching - Flying Officer Mayanglambam Lucky and Lieutenant Mayanglambam Danish were honoured and feted today by Yengkhom Rajendro of Kakching Mayai Leikai, retd Liaison Officer of Planning Department, Govt of Manipur for their achievements in being commissioned into the Indian Armed Forces.

Lieutenant Mayanglambam Danish, from Kakching Paji Leikai is the son of M Manihar and M Pushpa.

He began his journey at Padma Ratna English School, Kakching before clearing the entrance exam of Sainik School.

After his schooling, he qualified for the NDA Service Selection Board (SSB) in his third attempt.

Mayanglambam Lucky, hailing from Kakching Mayai Leikai, was commissioned as Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force after successfully passing out from the National Defence Academy (NDA).

Lucky's academic foundation was laid at RIMC (Rashtriya Indian Military Academy College), Dehradun under the guidance of Yengkhom Rajendro, Liaison Officer of Planning Department, Govt of Manipur, from where he transitioned into NDA.

Danish's journey also speaks of determination, having overcome various challenges, including multiple attempts at competitive exams.

Their success stories are already inspiring the younger generation in Kakching and beyond to pursue careers in the armed forces.

Speaking on the occasion, Yengkhom Rajendro lauded the young officers for their dedication and encouraged youths to follow their footsteps.

He emphasized the importance of hardwork and persistence, stating that the success of these two young men would serve as a beacon of hope for all aspiring youths in Manipur.

Meanwhile, in recognition of the achievement of Thokchom Sidharth Singh, a resident of Bishnupur district, who has been recently commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army after successfully completing his training at the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA), a felicitation ceremony was held on Thursday at Ningthoukhong Radha Madhav Leikai organised by the Radha Madhav Yaoshang Committee.

The event was attended by MLA Bishnupur AC Govindas Konthoujam, family members of Thokchom Sidharth Singh, members of Radha Madhav Yaoshang Sports Committee and local residents.

Speaking at the event, MLA Govindas Konthoujam applauded Sidharth Singh's remarkable accomplishment and stated that his achievement will serve as an inspiration for many youths in the region, particularly from the North-East and Manipur.

He further emphasized that Manipur, despite its relatively small population and area, has continuously produced capable individuals who served the nation with honour.

The MLA also urged more youths to follow Sidharth's path and contribute to serving the Nation.
