Felicitation programmes celebrate academic and cultural excellence

Imphal, July 26 2026: Three separate felicitation programmes were held across Imphal on Sunday to recognize and honour meritorious students and achievers from local communities in academics, sports, artsandculture.

The Heingang United Clubs Organisation (HUCO) organised its annual felicitation at Ibudhou Marjing Lai Haraopham to honour students from Heingang who secured high marks in Class 10 and 12 examinations, along with achievers in sports, arts and culture.

Attending as chief guest, Imphal West Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Rajkumar urged students to set clear goals and work hard without wasting time.

He said education requires sacrifice from both students and parents, and parents must understand the difficulties of raising and educating children in today's competitive environment.

Disciplined and focused youth, he added, will lead society forward and bring positive change to the state.

Babina Group of Companies CMD Dr Thangjam Dhabali, who attended as guest of honour, said competition is intense in every field today.

He encouraged students to keep striving for excellence and to use education and talent as tools to succeed nationally and globally.

Joint Secretary of Tribal Affairs and Hills Ng Uttam Singh, All Manipur State Panchayat Parishad president P December, and State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities W Birahari also attended the programme and encouraged the awardees.

In another event, Heisnam Nupimacha Memorial Trust and Patsoi Tuliyaima Century Club jointly felicitated meritorious students and sportspersons from Patsoi area at the club's community hall.

The programme was graced by Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeshwor; Patsoi Gram Panchayat Chairperson Pebam Sandhyarani; Handloom & Textile Thoubal Project Manager Thokchom Sundari; Yurembam High School Headmaster Shairem Tomba; MNCA former secretary Leishangthem Ronel; PTCC president Mutum Dhanabir; and Heisnam Nupimacha Memorial Trust president Heishnam Pholendro.

Organisers said the initiative aimed to encourage students and sportspersons, honor their dedication, and inspire young people to take up academics, sports and cultural activities with greater commitment.

Separately, Netaji Memorial Club (NMC) Youth Centre, Khurai Kongpal Thoubandong felicitated 35 students who passed Class 10 and 12 exams conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE, along with sportspersons who brought laurels to the State.

Retired Professor of Central Agricultural University Dr Leitam Nabachandra Singh attended as chief guest.

NMC president Ramananda Sairemcha said the club has been organising the felicitation every year and also honours students excelling in art, culture and national-level sports.

Guests of honour included Dr Takhelmayum Umesh Singh, Dr Sundeep Khagokpam, Konsam Saroja, and Awang Kongpal Apunba Meira Paibi Nupi Lup president Sougrakpam Leirangtombi.
