Imphal, October 25 2025:
The Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has accused DM Community College's Nodal Officer of covering up irregularities in the functioning of the institution.
In a statement released to the media today, SSUM said a recent clarification issued by the Nodal Officer has been found to be "false".
As the Nodal Officer allegedly failed to submit the Compliance Report and Annual Report, the college has not received any grants from the UGC meant for the BVoc course, claimed the student body.
It accused the officer of falsely claiming that the UGC has stopped issuing grants to the college.
The grants for the college in reality have been paused due to non-submission of utilization certificates, said the body.
On the other hand, the Star College scheme has been stopped due to various irregularities.
The responsibility for this should be borne by the Nodal Officer, SSUM said, stating that the officer should tender his resignation.
A responsible and able person who can resume the Star College scheme must be appointed in his place, SSUM asserted.
