Samvidhan Hatya Diwas observed across State

Jiribam/Thoubal, June 25 2025: To mark the 50th anniversary of the imposition of Emergency in India in 1975, "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas, 2025" was observed across the State today.

JIRIBAM

The District Administration Jiribam under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS observed "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas" at the Conference Hall of DC office today.

The event was organized to commemorate the imposition of National Emergency on June 25, 1975 .

As per the National Implementation Committee, the overall commemoration will be conducted in three phases - Phase 1: June 25, 2025, Phase 2: March 21, 2026 and Phase 3: June 25, 2026 .

During these three phases, different activities will be taken up such as awareness on the Constitution, exhibitions on National heritage, Presentation of Patriotic songs/dance along with large scale participation of public from different parts of the district and ceremonial Yatras carrying approved placards and Tiranga.

The event was also attended by Th Manoranjan Singh, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam, Laishram Tarajeet Singh, MCS, SDO Jiribam/Borobekra, RK Sailash Singh, BDO, Borobekra among others.

THOUBAL

"Samvidhan Hatya Diwas 2025" was also observed today at the District Election Counting Hall, Thoubal organised by the District Administration Thoubal.

A poster exhibition was also inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, Hannah Kamei today as part of the observance.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Hannah Kamei recalled the proclamation of Emergency in India on June 25, 1975 .

She emphasized that the event served as a powerful reminder of the need to protect and strengthen democracy and constitutional values in India.

The DLOs of the district also took part in the observance.

TAMENGLONG

To commemorate the massive contributions of all who endured the inhuman pains of the 1975 Emergency, the District Administration of Tamenglong observed "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas" at DC conference hall, Mini Secretariat Tamenglong HQ today.

The commemoration event was graced by Dr L Angshim, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong.

Key officials present at the event included ADM, Chunglemang Kipgen, Tamenglong SP Lanmiyo Luikham, ADC Tamenglong CEO Kachamthai F Gangmei, and Tamenglong SDC Savio Daimai and other district level officers and CRPF officials.

The overall commemoration of "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas" will be conducted in three phases - Phase 1: June 25, 2025, Phase 2: March 21, 2026 and Phase 3: June 25, 2026 .

KAKCHING

The Samvidhan Hatya Diwas was also observed at Kakching district today led by the Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Anand along with all the officers & staff and other line departments at the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex, Kakching district.

It may be mentioned that on June 25, 1975, India was placed under a State of Emergency under Article 353 of the Constitution citing internal disturbances.

It lasted for 21 months until its revocation on March 21, 1977 .
