Good Governance Week continues in Bishnupur, Kakching with district-level workshop and special camps

As part of Good Governance Week, "Prashasan Gaon ki Ore", a one-day public grievance redressal camp was organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur at the Panchayat Resource Centre (PRC) Hall, Bishnupur.
During the camp, various line departments including Health, Education, CAF & PD, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Social Welfare, among others, set up stalls to address public grievances.
People from different parts of the district attended the camp and raised queries related to various government schemes and the procedures to avail them.
Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, while highlighting the importance of Good Governance Week, stated that such initiatives are a transformational effort aimed at bringing effective governance closer to the people and improving service delivery.
She emphasised that this reflects the true essence of grassroots democracy, where development reaches the people at the ground level.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the public to take full advantage of the camp by clearing their doubts regarding developmental schemes available to them.
She also directed officials to address all grievances promptly and effectively.
Later in the day, a districtlevel workshop on Good Governance was held at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
Addressing the workshop, Additional Deputy Commissioner Toijam Opendro highlighted the significance of Good Governance Week, stating that it aims to reinforce transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric service delivery.
He urged all officials to respond promptly to public grievances and encouraged them to perform their duties with utmost dedication.
During the workshop, district-level officers presented PowerPoint presentations highlighting various initiatives and programmes undertaken by their respective departments.
Meanwhile the District Administration Kakching today organised two special camps as part of the ongoing Good Governance Week held from December 19 to 25 under the "Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore" campaign.
The special camp at KBM Kakching Khunou was organised under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Waikhong, while the camp at Sugnu Municipality Office in Sugnu Bazar was organised by the Block Development Officer, Langmeidong with the objective of strengthening citizen-centric governance and enhancing public service delivery.
Stalls from different government departments of the district, including Horticulture & Soil Conservation, District Handlooms & Textiles, Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL), Consumer Affairs Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Education (ZEO), Forest Department, Municipal Council, Industrial Training Institute, among others were opened at the camps for grievance redressal and public service delivery.
As part of the Good Governance Week, special drive continued for Cataract Detection and Surgery for Senior Citizens under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) scheme conducted by the District Social Welfare Office in collaboration with Medilane Foundation, Imphal Eye Clinic and Kakching Eye Hospital at the two camps.
A total of 71 participants attended the cataract detection camps.
Patients requiring surgical intervention will receive treatment at Kakching Eye Hospital, while those needing only corrective lenses will be provided with spectacles free of charge by the department.
The department will also bear expenses related to cataract surgeries and other associated requirements.
