EPFO and Manipur Government collaborate to boost employment, social security

Imphal, January 22 2026: The 103rd birth anniversary of Maichou Thoukachanpa, a pioneer of the Kanglei Eeyek was celebrated today at Kuraomakhong United Club (KMUC) complex in Sagolband, Sayang Road, Imphal.

The observation was jointly organised by Maichou Thoukachanpa Ningshing Lup, Sayang Kuraomakhong Women Development Committee, Lamjing Seva Meira Paibi and KMUC.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including RK Imo Singh, MLA, Sagolband AC; Sapam Kunjakeswor, MLA, Patsoi AC; Prof Lanchenba Meetei, Dean, School of Humanities, Dhanamanjuri University and Principal, DM College of Arts; Salam Tiken Singh, president, KMUC; and Moirangthem Naokhamba Meetei, president, Maichou Thoukachanpa Ningshing Thougal Lup.

The observation began with the paying of floral tributes to the statue of Lamyanba Maichou Thoukachanpa located at KMUC Complex.

The gathering also remembered the dedication and sacrifices made by Maichou Thoukachanpa towards the revival and promotion of Meetei Mayek script.

A book (puya) titled "Wakoklon Thilel Salai Amialon Pukok" was also released.
