Health camp conducted for children of CCIs

Kakching, July 20 2025:
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, Dental College Department of Paediatrics and Preventive Dentistry and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kakching in collaboration with Kakching district administration conducted a mega free health Camp, 'Nanhi Muskaan' (little smile) - 2025 for the children of child care institutions (CCIs) of Kakching and Thoubal districts at Morning Star Children Home for Boys, Keirak.
Altogether, 235 children staying in the CCIs and 10 children of keirak availed benefits of the camp conducted under the aegis of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD) .
Nanhi Muskaan is an initiative of ISPPD, focusing on improving the oral health of underprivileged children.
As part of the camp, an awareness programme on health and hygiene was also conducted covering topics like oral health, hand-washing, sanitation, nutrition and disease prevention, as officials interacted with the children.
The programme aims to educate and empower the children with the knowledge and practices to maintain personal well-being and prevent illness.
The camp was attended by Dental College Department of Paediatrics and Preventive Dentistry assistant professor Dr RK Sarada Devi, tutor Dr Gargi Yumnam, interns and junior residents, ENT doctors, nursing officials and auxiliary staff, DCPU, Kakching district child protection officer Gajoo Rajkumari, DCPO S Robindro, staffers of DCPU and Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kakching and children homes officials.
