Mt Zion Sr Sec & College hosts annual Zion's idol and super dancer competition

Senapati, November 16 2025: Mt Zion Senior Secondary School & College on Saturday celebrated its much-anticipated annual Zion's Idol and Super Dancer competitions at the school basketball court, drawing enthusiastic cheers from students who filled the venue in support of the performers.

Addressing the gathering, Director Dr S Lohrii highlighted that the institution has been organising the event every year on November 15 as a platform for students to express themselves creatively while building confidence, coordination and teamwork.

He noted that performing on stage helps students enhance discipline and social skills, while also promoting physical fitness, flexibility and stamina through dance.

Dr Lohrii emphasised that the programme aims to provide children with a joyful and educational experience that strengthens cognitive development, boosts memory and concentration, and nurtures rhythm and coordination.

He added that stage performance allows students to overcome stage fright, develop self-esteem and gain assurance through public expression.

The event featured a variety of dance styles, custom roles and artistic expressions that encouraged creativity and self-confidence.

Students from various categories showcased eyecatching performances, while selected singers presented melodious numbers in the Zion's Idol segment, adding to the festive atmosphere.

At the conclusion of the event, results for Zion Super Dancer were announced, with Benjamin Rasaily clinching the first position, followed by Ringkumsha in second place and Canaan Rose in third in the senior category.

In the junior category, Marysha secured the top position, Nemlanlu came second and Sazhehriine finished third.

For Zion's Idol, Zaveinai Jemai emerged as the winner in the senior category, with A Saveinai and Thanggoulal David securing second and third positions respectively.

In the junior category, Radone secured first place, followed by Haveine Abel in second and Uttam Pokhrel in third.

The event concluded with resounding applause as students, teachers and parents celebrated a day of talent, teamwork and artistic expression.
