Imphal, May 16 2025:
The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur has announced that six of its BTech students have been awarded incubation support by MTI HUB, a prestigious innovation and entrepreneurship initiative under KIIT Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) .
As per a release issued by Dr Nongmeikapam Kishorjit, Registrar, HIT Manipur, two student-led teams have successfully secured three-year incubation support following the signing of a MoU with Manipur Technology Innovation HUB.
The first team led by Aishwary Raj, founder of MISTIC, along with Ujjwal Kumar (BTech ECE-VLSI) and Manas Trivedi (BTech CSE), has been recognized for their innovative project titled "Electrostatic Fog Collector".
The device harnesses the natural presence of fog to extract potable water by using electrostatics to attract and collect charged fog droplets.
Beyond providing water in arid regions, the technology also combats urban smog by removing pollutant-laden droplets from the air, significantly improving air quality in metropolitan areas like Delhi.
The second team, led by Rahul Sharma (founder of AgriHive) with Yogita Kumari and Harshit Mishra, earned incubation for their project "Smart Farming and Disease Detection System".
Their AI-powered mobile app, AgriHive, supports small and marginal farmers with personalized, real-time agricultural assistance.
It features two key modules: a Smart Plantation Management System for crop tracking and guidance, and an AI-Based Disease Detection Tool that diagnoses issues from image uploads.
Built with Flutter, Firebase, and TensorFlow, AgriHive is multilingual, works in low-connectivity areas, and aims to make smart farming accessible and effective.
IIIT Manipur extended its heartfelt congratulations to ail the students and wished them continued success in their entrepreneurial journey.
