Samajwadi MP accuses Govt of causing unrest

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Rajeev Kumar Rai has accused the BJP of implementing divide and rule policy and causing unrest in Manipur.
He made the remark against the ruling party at the launch of the Samajwadi Party's State office at Tera Lukram Leirak, Imphal today.
Notably, the MP, who is on a 2-day visit to the State, also visited JNIMS mortuary, where the remains of six Nagas abducted and killed in the ongoing conflict are being kept, and met with their families.
Speaking at the launch of the party's office, Rajeev said that the BJP-led Government refusing to discuss the Manipur crisis in the Parliament is very unfortunate.
When the Prime Minister has spoken on many incidents, he has not properly mentioned and addressed the Manipur issue, Rajeev said.
Rajeev also spoke on elections, and said that the party will contribute its best toward the development of the State, and stated that the people of Uttar Pradesh are with Manipur.
India can't develop without a developed Manipur, he added.
Samajwadi Party Assam State president Brojen Kumar Handique and Manipur State president Konthoujam Bishorjit attended the event.
At the event, Konthoujam Bishorjit declared that the party will field candidates in the upcoming elections.
The party's priority will be resolving the Manipur crisis and restoring peace and normalcy, he said.
