HKL elects new leaders

Ukhrul, September 13 2025: The Hunphun Katamnao Long (HKL), popularly known as Ukhrul Town Students Union, has elected Thotdharrin Shingnaisui of Viewland as the new president of the students body for the 2025-2027 tenure today.

The election was held at Awontang Community Hall, Ukhrul and was participated by 28 localities of Ukhrul town.

Altogether 84 votes were cast in the election.

Three student representatives from each locality were endorsed as electors to exercise their democratic adult franchise rights.

According to the result of the election, Thotdharrin Shingnaisui was appointed as the president; Rinjuiyo Raleng, as the vice-president; Soyaphi Shaiza as general secretary; Chuisang Shaiza as joint secretary; Chipemmi Shingnaisui, as finance secretary; Tharmi Raleng as Games & Sports secretary; Ngaranring Ragui as Social & Culture secretary; Zingvap Sareo as Publicity & Information secretary; Wungyao A Samshok as treasurer; Jewelson Shaiza as election secretary and Jessica Raleng as Education, Literary & Statistics secretary.

The elected leaders of the Hunphun Katamnao Long will lead the students' affairs of Ukhrul town.
