CPI meet resolves to urge Governor to form peace committee

Imphal, June 12 2025:
The Imphal West District Committee, Communist Party of India, convened a meeting on Thursday to discuss the prevailing situation of Manipur.
As per a release issued by the CPI Manipur State Council, the meeting was participated by Joykumar Luwang, N Singhajit, Meitram Kesho and district councillors of CPI Sekmai Local, Lamshang Local, Konthoujam Local, Langthabal Local, Wangoi Local and Mayang Imphal Local.
During the meeting, the delegates expressed their disappointment over the Government's handling of the prolonged conflict which has been going on for more than 2 years.
The meeting resolved to urge the Governor to constitute a State Level Peace Committee consisting of different political parties, CSOs and intellectuals, to find a sustainable solution for the ongoing conflict to restore peace & harmony in Manipur.
The meeting also decided to submit a representation/ memorandum in this regard to the Governor soon.
