Candidates warn of stir over pending result

Denouncing the failure of the Government to declare the result of the Special DPC for contractual staff under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and POSHAN Abhiyaan, a sit-in protest was staged today in front of the gate of Social Welfare Department office in NorthAOC.
The sit-in was organised by the Association of Contractual Staff of ICDS-Mission 2016 Batch.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the protest, Maibam Rameshchandra, general secretary of the association said that after working for one year and two months, the service of contractual staff recruited by the Social Welfare Department under ICDS Mission were discontinued in 2017 .
"In 2019, the Department issued a notice for recruitment of contractual staff for Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), PMMVY and Poshan Abhiyan scheme.
Subsequently, 133 contractual staff whose services were terminated filed a petition in the High Court of Manipur with regard to the notice", he added.
He continued that the Court then directed the Department to consider the 133 contractual staff (petitioner) for the posts by holding a Special DPC .
"As per the Court's instruction, a Special DPC was held in 2020, which was later cancelled according to a notification issued in 2021 .
The Special DPC was reconducted in 2022", he added.
He also informed that the contractual staff have not received the performance based honorarium for their one year and two months service.
He urged the Governor to look into the matter and take necessary steps to declare the long-delayed results of the Special DPC for contractual staff.
Furthermore, Bhogendro cautioned that the Association will launch a series of intense agitation if the Government does not declare the result of the Special DPC at the earliest.
At the sit, the protestors displayed placards with the writings such as, "No Job, No Future", "Stop Mental Harassment", "Release performance based honorarium", "Declare long awaited results soon", etc .
