ZSYO organises literary session at Kanem village

As part of the ongoing Cultural cum Sports Meet, 2026 held under the theme "Kindling the Flames of Progress Together," the Zeme Students and Youth Organization (ZSYO) organised a literary session at Kanem village in Senapati district on Sunday.
The programme was graced by Heutwalung James Hau, Information & Publicity Secretary of the United Naga Council as the special guest, in the presence of village elders, senior student leaders and youths.
Addressing the gathering, Heutwalung James Hau said that the future of any country depends largely on its students, adding that the name and fame of a country rests on educated youths.
Encouraging the students, James described youths as the real treasure of the society and country and stressed that genuine education and sincerity are essential for societal progress.
He urged students to be serious in their studies and responsible in pursuing their goals, noting that parents place high hopes on their children.
He emphasised that it is the duty of educated youths to bring positive change and development to their respective areas.
He also highlighted the importance of preserving Zeme culture and tradition, urging youths to learn and promote Zeme folk dances, folk songs, handloom and handicrafts, and to pass on this knowledge to younger generations.
Wishing the participants success, the guest expressed hope that the gathering would foster peace, love, unity, progress and development among the people.
Out of the 13 Zeme villages in the district.
8 units are participating in the ongoing Cultural cum Sports Meet, which will culminate on January 12 .
