Family urges for safe release

Thoubal, June 10 2025: The family of Asem Kanan has urged the Government to release him at the earliest without any conditions attached.

Presently in the custody of the CBI in Guwahati, Asem Kanan was arrested on June 7 .

Asem Kanan had been working selflessly to safeguard and protect the State and her people.

Considering this and the family's suffering and grievances following his arrest, the Government should drop all the charges and release him without any conditions attached, said Asem ongbi Bimola, the wife of Asem Kanan at their residence at Yairipok Laimanai, Andro AC .

The couple has three children-Donacharles, Dhanapiyari and Nija.

Bimola said she acknowledges the sympathy and efforts that have been put in by the people to secure the release of Asem Kanan.

"Our family is thankful to the people for their sympathy and support in efforts to secure his safe and unconditional release.

We pray for continuous support from the people, and request the Government to understand the suffering of the family and release him safely and securely," Bimola said.
