Jiribam police celebrates Ningol Chakkouba with displaced folks

Jiribam, November 09 2025: In a heartwarming gesture, the Jiribam District Police celebrated Ningol Chakkouba with internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the district at the Bidyanagar Sports Complex Indoor Hall today.

The celebration, organized by the Jiribam District Police, brought together over 350 ningols currently taking shelter at various relief camps in Jiribam district.

The event aimed to spread warmth, love, and a sense of belonging among those affected by displacement.

The programme was held under the supervision of Prakhar Pandey, Superintendent of Police, Jiribam, along with Sanasam Gourachand Singh, Addl SP (Ops), and Inspector Thingujam Tikendra Singh, in the presence of several other police officers of the district.

As part of the celebration, gifts were presented to the ningols by the police personnel, symbolizing the spirit of familial affection and care central to the Ningol Chakkouba festival.

The event concluded with a shared festive meal, reinforcing the cherished values of unity, compassion, and togetherness.
