RIMS hosts World Skin Health Day 2025

Imphal, July 08 2025: The Department of Dermatology, RIMS, Imphal, today observed World Skin Health Day 2025 with an awareness programme and the inauguration of Diode Laser with Phototherapy Machine.

The program was held at the OPD Block of RIMS Hospital, Imphal.

According to a press release, the event was graced by chief guest Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, who inaugurated the new Diode Laser with Phototherapy Machine in the presence of president of the function Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital and guests of honour Professor Th Nandakishore Singh, Professor, Department of Dermatology and Dr Chitralekha Keisham, Head of the Department of Dermatology, RIMS, Imphal.

Speaking on the occasion, the Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma emphasized that skin health goes beyond cosmetic concerns.

The RIMS Imphal Director also highlighted the importance of the newly inaugurated technology in providing free, effective treatment for chronic and cosmetic skin conditions, calling it a step toward affordable and accessible dermatological care.

An awareness session was also conducted for patients and visitors, focusing on preventive skin care, sun protection, and the impact of environmental factors on skin health.

The program was attended by Deputy Director (Admn), Principal of Dental College & College of Nursing, HODs, Chief Account Officer cum Financial Advisor, faculty members, nursing officials, staff and students of RIMS, Imphal.
