Imphal, May 08 2026: The Millennium Institute of Sciences and MECI Explorer Academy held separate felicitation programmes today to honour students who excelled in the Higher Secondary Examination, 2026 conducted by COHSEM .

Millennium Institute of Sciences organised its ceremony at its Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi campus.

The grand event was graced by dignitaries, including Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker, Thokchom Satyabrata; Mayang Imphal AC MLA, Kongkham Robindro; Keirao AC MLA, Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei; Kshetrigao AC MLA, Sheikh Noorul Hassan; Imphal West DC, Mayanglambam Rajkumar; Waikhong SDO, Arvind Hanglem; and Millennium Institute of Sciences principal, Wahengbam Zenith Devi.

Addressing students, Thokchom Satyabrata said, "Our State needs able administrators as much as it needs doctors and engineers.

I urge you to look beyond traditional paths and consider the Civil Services.

You can directly shape policy and serve the people of Manipur".

He added that hard work must be guided by purpose.

Rameshwor Meetei said education should not be for personal gain alone.

"Use your knowledge to benefit society.

Today Manipur needs youth with a spirit of patriotism and dedication.

Be the reason for positive change in your village, your leikai", he said.

The institute honoured its Science stream HSE 2026 rank holders - Pebam Taibanganba Mangang, 2nd; Nganthoiba Konthoujam, 10th; Puineswori Elangbam, Kangujam Srinivas Mangang and Moirangthem Sadananda, joint 18th; and Senjam Ningthibee, 19th.The institute also felicitated former students who recently cleared MPSC examinations.

MECI Academy

MECI Explorer Academy held its 'MECI Meritorious Award' distribution programme at its campus in Changangei Uchekon.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including MECI Explorer Academy Governing Body president N Shantikumar, secretary L Dijendrakumar, member L Jiten, additional director Mutum Sanjuna and principal Th Ibomcha.

Three Science stream rank holders of HSE 2026 were felicitated - Laishram Sadhana, 11th; Naorem Chaobithoi, 18th; and Langlen Naoiroibam, 19th.State-level subject toppers from the school and teachers were also given cash awards and gifts.

Speaking at the event, Th Ibomcha advised students to put in more effort amid Manipur's "uncertain situation" .

"No one knows what will happen tomorrow, students need to focus more on their education", he said.

He urged regular attendance and said knowledge from teachers is key to becoming competent.

"It is not enough to score high marks.

Students must also ensure they gain proper knowledge", he said, asking students to work for success in future competitive exams.
