4th Lanphou Bungna celebrated

The 4th edition of Lanphou (Ramson) Bungna was celebrated on Wednesday at Duhna Lon at Lamphou Charu village under Chandel district, with traditional fervour and a strong message of unity.
Celebrated under the theme "Celebrating Resilience and Fostering Unity", the event aimed to bring together all descendants of the Ramsom village and strengthen the sense of oneness and solidarity among them.
Established in 1979, the Ramsom Bungna - literally meaning "to come together", has served as a platform for people who have migrated to different places to reunite and celebrate their shared origin.
As part of the observance, 12 monoliths were unveiled, including one dedicated to the Phethas (heroes) of Ramsom, namely Koko Ruwngtol, Kolo Kanthuwn, Bera Sinruwng and Tothal Ruwngtol.
The remaining monoliths bear the names of various clans, including Ruwngtol, Kanthuwn, Sinruwng, Bungsong, Lukhu, Rangang, Seltun, Wangshol, Ruwnlal and Tongsin.
The monolith were blessed and dedicated by Rev Fr Augustine Ruwnglal, SDB, Principal of St Joseph Hr Sec School, Shajouba, while Dr SS Olish, MLA of 41-Chandel (ST) Assembly Constituency, formally unveiled the monoliths, followed by the release of unity balloons.
The programme also featured various cultural performances, including traditional dances by Lambung Youth and Cultural Club, cultural choreography by Phetha Production Team, and performances by Lamphousana and Ws Ruwngshung, among others.
