MP Alfred chairs DISHA meet

Kangpokpi, March 06 2025:
Outer Manipur Lok Sabha MP Alfred Kanngam S Arthur led a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at LNC Hotel, here, on Thursday.
The high-level review meeting, aimed at assessing the progress of key government schemes and programmes, was also attended by Kangpokpi deputy commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, who also serves as the member secretary of the committee.
Various departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Horticulture, District Industries Centre, Veterinary, Information & Technology, District Supply Office, Ministry of Women & Child Development (ICDS), District Health Society, and Agriculture & Farmer Welfare, presented comprehensive reports on their activities and achievements, providing a clear picture of the district's developmental landscape.
Government schemes and projects across multiple sectors were scrutinised, with special attention given to crucial areas such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and rural employment.
MP Alfred emphasised the need for transparency, efficiency, and timely execution of these projects to ensure that benefits reach the grassroots level.
He urged all departments to work in close coordination to address challenges and expedite development efforts.
The MP also highlighted the importance of bifurcating data based on block-wise allocation to enhance resource distribution and utilisation.
Additionally, he urged officials to expedite pending cases to facilitate timely and efficient decision-making.
The meeting concluded with a strong resolution to enhance governance and implementation efficiency, paving the way for a more prosperous and sustainable future for the people of the district.
Koraput (Odisha) Lok Sabha MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, Kangpokpi SP Manoj Prabhakar, additional district magistrate N Shokhonam Baite, T-Waichong SDO Hemant Kumar, Sadar Hills ADC CEO Doujapao Haokip and Champhai SDO Lamminlal Simte, along with other district-level officials and senior officers were also present at the review meeting.
