No irregularities at Arong High School clarifies ZEO Kakching

The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Kakching, M Rakesh Singh has issued a clarification refuting the allegations made by IYAK regarding the absence of Government teachers at Arong High School during their visit.
In a letter addressed to the press, the ZEO stated that as per the report of the Headmistress, while the IYAK volunteers visited the school the teacher including the Headmistress were attending to a student suffering from a functional and neurological disorder.
He stated that the Arong High School is the only Government school in Arong Nongmaikhong area and currently has around 120 students enrolled from Pre-Primary to Class X in the 2025-26 academic year.
The school has 16 sanctioned staff members, 6 Assistant Graduate Teachers (AGT), 2 Hindi Graduate Teacher (HGT), 4 SGTs, 1 Multi Tasking staff, 1 Office Assistant, and a Primary Teacher (PT).
Presently, 7 regular Government teachers including 1 PT deputed from another school.
Of the 7 teachers, one SGT is attending B.Ed training, and one AGT (contract) is currently engaged at the ZEO for Teacher's Data Capture Format work.
Due to the need for 12 teachers to manage simultaneous classes, the School Management Committee (SMC) and parents took help from some local volunteers to ensure smooth functioning of the school, said the ZEO .
The school also provides Mid-Day meals as per norms and maintains proper records and photographs.
There is no irreguralirities in the functioning of the school, said the ZEO.
Meanwhile, the School Management Committee (SMC) and local guardians of the students have expressed dissatisfaction with the media reports and strongly refuted the allegations as misleading and unfounded.
