Health camp, cleanliness drive conducted

In a continued effort to foster community well-being and environmental stewardship, Assam Rifles conducted impactful outreach activities across Tengnoupal and Ukhrul districts on October 3 reinforcing its commitment to holistic development in the region.
At Moreh in Tengnoupal district, a health awareness and screening camp was organized at the Unit Hospital under the theme "Swasth Nari, Shashakt Parivar" (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family), according to a press release issued by IGAR (S) .
The initiative focused on promoting preventive healthcare among women and families, recognizing the pivotal role of women's health in shaping household wellness.
Dr Siddhi Khinvasara, a seasoned Oro-Maxillofacial Surgeon, engaged participants in an informative and interactive session on dental hygiene, highlighting its influence on overall health and addressing common oral ailments.
The camp facilitated routine health check-ups, consultations, and distribution of essential medicines, benefiting 23 individuals through personalized care and counselling.
Simultaneously, at Ukhrul COB, Somsai Battalion spearheaded a cleanliness drive in collaboration with local villagers.
The campaign, rooted in the spirit of civic responsibility and ecological consciousness, saw enthusiastic participation from troops and residents.
Activities included sweeping of public spaces, removal of plastic waste, garbage clearance, tree plantation, and awareness interactions on hygiene and waste segregation.
The drive culminated in a pledge ceremony, where all attendees resolved to uphold cleanliness and adopt sustainable practices in daily life.
The initiative not only enhanced the aesthetic and sanitary conditions of the area but also reinforced the shared responsibility between security forces and the community in nurturing a healthier environment.
A total of 54 personnel participated across both events.
