Akashvani Imphal Listeners' Meet 2026 held at Nambol

Imphal, January 04 2026: The Akashvani Listener's Meet 2026 was held on Sunday at the residence of Akashvani listener Linthoi Salam at Nambol Leimapokpam Awang Leikai.

The programme was organised by the Radio Listeners' of Akashvani Imphal.

AIR Imphal Programme Co-ordinator Nongthombam Roma attended the meet as the chief guest; while senior listener Oinam Chittaranjan presided over the function as functional president.

The event was also attended by AIR Imphal Programme Executive Heigrujam Devendra; Asst Research Officer of the Audience Research Unit Nongmaithem Sumita; former announcer Keke Wahengbam; senior artistes Thongam Thoithoi and Subhash Athokpam; Ayekpam Priyobala; Khwairakpam Minaksi; Ratankumar Loitongbam; Khaidem Victoria; Ngangom Ibeyaima; Ayekpam Priyobala; RK Lokesana; Kakchingtabam Ritesh and others as guests of honour.

Delivering the keynote address, senior Akashvani listener RK Opendro said that the Akashvani Listeners' Meet was first launched on January 4, 2012.He appealed to the listeners to extend cooperation to help organise the programme annually and urged AIR Imphal to value the feedback and observations of listeners, particularly regarding mistakes or errors in programmes, so that corrective measures could be taken to improve broadcasts.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Nongthombam Roma said that the continued existence of AIR Imphal is largely due to its devoted listeners.

She remarked that even high-quality programmes would have little value without an active and engaged audience.

Stressing the importance of a strong bond between listeners and the station, she urged listeners to maintain close interaction with AIR Imphal to help improve and develop the station.

She also encouraged listeners to visit the station at least two to three times a year to offer constructive suggestions for better functioning.

As part of the programme, several renowned singers, including Huidrom Nowboy, Thingbaijam Bipinchandra, Solendro, Thongam Luxmi and Pangambam Rajendro, presented musical performances, adding colour and making the event a memorable one.
