MTU holds orientation on 'Study, career avenues in South Korea'

Imphal, September 03 2026: The International Affairs Cell (IAC), Manipur Technical University organised an orientation programme on "Study and Work in South Korea" today at MTU AIC Block.

The programme, held under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof W Chandbabu Singh, aimed to guide students, particularly final year technical students, on academic opportunities, research fellowships and technical employment pathways in South Korea.

Registrar Ramananda Nongmeikapam delivered the welcome address, while Prof W Chandbabu Singh highlighted the importance of international exposure in engineering education and encouraged students to become globally competitive innovators.

Prof Hyun Kyung Lee, Visiting Faculty from Korea Foundation, Department of Foreign Languages, Manipur University, spoke on admission standards.

Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) and university life in South Korea.

Dr Minjae Park, Operation Personnel, King Sejong Institute, Imphal under Korean Cultural Centre India, spoke on workplace culture, visa categories for skilled graduates and importance of Korean language certification.

Coordinator IAC Dr L Iboyaima Singh and CoCoordinator Kosygin Leishangthem spoke on MTU's initiative to build ties with premier Korean institutions.

The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A on application timelines, research grants, internships and job markets in South Korea's technology sector.
