Imphal, September 02 2025: A joint inspection was conducted today on the deteriorated road stretch of NH-102 leading to Tangjeng FCI Godown by MLA of Wangkhem AC and MPCC president, K Meghachandra Singh; Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Hannah Kamei; ADM Thoubal; and officials of PWD, CAF & PD, along with authorities of FCI.

According to a release issued by the PRO to the MPCC president Th Ibochouba, the inspection team assessed the severely damaged condition of the road, which has been further worsened by digging works carried out by local residents.

This disruption has badly affected the smooth transportation of essential commodities in the region.

During the visit, MLA K Meghachandra Singh, submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Hannah Kamei, urging immediate measures for repair and reconstruction of the road.

He highlighted that the road serves as a vital lifeline for transporting food grains and essential items from the FCI Godown to four districts Thoubal, Kakching, Tengnoupal, and Chandel.

Following the inspection and discussions with the authorities, the ban earlier imposed by local residents on vehicle movement through the road was lifted, bringing relief to transporters and the general public.
