Poshan Maah 2024 kicks off in Bishnupur

Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram today launched Poshan Maah 2024 under Poshan Abhiyan at the Conference Hall of DC Office, Bishnupur for the district.
Poshan Abhiyan is the Prime Minister's overarching scheme for holistic nourishment for both children and women.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the month-long celebration of Poshan Maah from September 1 to 30 is being held nationwide.
Poshan Maah is committed to fighting malnutrition among children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers across the country.
Anaemia, growth monitoring, and complementary feeding are among the focussed themes of 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024, he added.
Highlighting the program's significance, he stated that ensuring good health of mothers and children is fundamental to building a healthy India.
He stressed that Poshan Maah aims to improve nutrition outcomes in a holistic manner for pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and children below 6 years of age through the campaign.
He asserted that the concerned Ministry diligently monitors the activities of all the states for this programme.
The Poshan tracker is crucial in this process as it provides real-time data online.
The tracker reflects the performance of every Anganwadi worker in the district, allowing the ministry to access and review the effectiveness of their efforts.
The DC urged all the concerned departments to collaborate and implement the program at the grassroot level.
He also appealed for maximum awareness about the program to ensure successful execution.
Organized by District Administration Bishnupur in collaboration with ICDS Cell, Bishnupur, the launching programme was also attended by ADM Bishnupur H Bobby Sharma; Chief Medical Officer Bishnupur Dr L Raichandra; District ICDS Cell Bishnupur Programme Officer H Mitabina Devi and officials concerned.
A Poshan Rally was also flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner from the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
Anganwadi supervisors and helpers of the district also took part
in the rally.
