National Unity Day observed

On the occasion of National Unity Day, the Dett 158 Battalion, CRPF organised a series of events to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel today.
As per a press note, the celebrations began with a "Run for Unity" wherein officers, personnel of all ranks participated.
The event aimed to promote the spirit of unity, integrity and dedication towards the Nation.
Following the run, a National Unity Pledge ceremony was held at Dett 158 Bn CRPF, NSU Campus, Koutruk where all officers and personnel took a solemn oath to preserve and strengthen the unity and integrity of the country.
During the event, the immense contributions and vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the nation were remembered.
Sanjay Negi, Commandant, 158 Bn CRPF also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
Separately, as a part of the observation of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day, a walkathon was organized by the 9th Indian Reserve Mahila Battalion this morning.
The walkathon was flagged off by MPS Haobam Sanghamita, Commandant 9th IRB Mahila Battalion, from Khuman Lampak Northern Gate.
It was attended by a large number of police personnel and students of National Sports Academy Khuman Lampak.
The participants of the walkathon proceeded towards Manipur Legislative Assembly and took a U-turn from Lilasing Khongnang Khong traffic point and returned to the starting point.
Speaking to media persons, Haobam Sanghamita said that the unity walkathon has been organized under the vision of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Manipur Government.
She also said that the participants took a pledge to make all possible efforts to protect and preserve the unity and integrity of the Nation.
On the occasion of National Unity Day, the Border Security Force (BSF), under SHQ BSF MPR, Koirengei, and its under- command units, conducted a series of Civic Action Program (CAP) across 51 villages in different parts of the districts of Manipur reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and development of the local population.
The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between security forces and the civilian populace, fostering a spirit of goodwill, cooperation, and mutual trust, said a press release.
As part of the program, essential items were distributed to various segments of the rural community.
These distributions were carried out with an aim to improve the quality of life and ease of living.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from local villagers, including village chiefs and community leaders, who expressed heartfelt gratitude towards BSF for its continued support beyond operational duties.
Lastly, Rashtriya Ekta Divas 2025 was also observed at Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa today under the supervision of Syed Abdul Samad, MPS, SP- Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa.
Officers and personnel of all ranks including 5th IRB participated in a 5 km run, cleanliness drive and administration of pledge.
