NJUM constitutes fact finding team

Ukhrul, August 31 2025: The Naga Journalists' Union Manipur (NJUM) has officially constituted a three-member fact finding team to ascertain the details surrounding the Laii incident where a Hornbill TV reporter was "injured by air gun pellets" yesterday.

According to a statement issued by Vangamla Salle KS, secretary, NJUM, the members of the fact finding team are - Samuel Pao (The People's Chronicle/ISTV), Solomon Sha (The Hornbill) and Kibambe Felix (Times of Senapati) .

NJUM has instructed the team to submit the fact finding report to the president of NJUM by September 3 .

Strongly condemning the incident which took place when journalist Dip Saikia was on assignment to cover the Zinnia festival in Laii village, NJUM also prayed for his quick recovery.

Additionally, NJUM has appealed to the authority concerned and stakeholders to extend all possible cooperation to the team to help them establish the truth.
