Emoinu Erat Thouni Thouram held at Waithou Chengei Ching

The annual Emoinu Erat Thouni Thouram, observed on the 12th day of the Meitei lunar month of Wakching, was held on Wednesday at Waithou Chengei Ching Emoinu Khubam.
The religious ceremony was jointly organised by the Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup and Utra Sanglen, Sana Konung.
Devotees and participants from different parts of the State took part in the worship ceremony.
Among those present were Utra Sanglen, Sana Konung Yaiskul Lakpa, Keisham Raghumani; Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup president Wangkhem Ibochou; secretary Puyam Birmangol; Angom Ningthou Angom Poireiton; SDO Thoubal Arvind Hanglem; SDPO Thoubal O Ajit; Women Police Station Thoubal, OC Okram Chaoba Devi; Justice Committee on Anglo-Manipuri War 1891 Martyrs & Freedom Fighters of Kangleipak (Manipur) chairman Joychandra Konthoujam, among others.
As part of the ritual proceedings, offerings were made to Ebendhou Emoinu, followed by a tree plantation drive in the surrounding areas of Chengei Ching by the attending dignitaries.
Later, Yaiskul Lakpa of Sana Konung, along with members of the Emoinu Thougal Lup, performed the traditional ritual of Cheng Chaiba.
Speaking in this connection, Keisham Raghumani stated that the higher ground is associated with Koubru Hill, while the lower elevation houses the Chengei Ching Khubam, adding that worship has been conducted at these sacred sites since time immemorial.
He expressed hope that the blessings of Ebendhou Emoinu would usher in abundance, prosperity and peace for the State.
