Imphal, October 27 2020:
The National Socialist Women Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON), Sumi Region held a consultative meeting at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur today and fully endorsed the Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015.The meeting was attended by Hutovi Chishi Swu, convener, Steering Committee NSCN and Kihoi Swu, convener, Ceasefire Moni-toring Cell.
During the meeting, NSWON, in a statement said the house took several resolutions fully endorsing the August 3, 2015 Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) which recognised the 'sovereign rights' of the Nagas.
The recognition of the 'unique' history of the Nagas, the acknowledgment of the universal principle of democracy that sovereignty lies with people, the 'shared sovereignty and peaceful co-existence of the two entities', unequivocally states the components of the Naga flag and Constitution as 'integral parts' of the final solution, read one of the resolutions.
In the course of several decades of 'Indo-Naga conflict' more than 3,50,000 Nagas have laid down their lives for the cause of the Nagas.
Nagas across the length and breadth of 'Nagalim' have equally borne the heavy burden of untold sufferings and humiliations.
The 'alien aggression on our land and people' have resulted in hundreds of thousands of widows and orphans.
Sumi community too is not an exception, said the NSWON.
It also expressed contempt against 'some groups' of Nagas for wanting financial packages at the expense of the historical and political rights of the Nagas.
"...it is extremely unfortunate on the part of some groups of our people who are preparing for sale out arrangement for financial package and under Indian Constitution in exchange of the historical and the political rights of the Nagas.
We hold in contempt such groups for their irresponsible act while we reaffirm ourselves to stand by the Naga National rights to the end," it said.
