The National Integration Tour organised by Jwalamukhi Battalion under the aegis of Red Shield Division was flagged in by Commander, Senapati Brigade, at Jwalamukhi today.
The team of the 12 days long tour comprised fifteen students and three teachers from remote areas of Senapati district.
The team visited Jamshedpur and Kolkata, according to a statement issued by the PRO (Defence), Imphal.
During the tour, the children visited places like Victoria Memorial, Belur Math, St Paul Cathedral, Fort Williams, Dimna Lake, Jubilee Park and JRD TATA Sports complex.
The children also got an opportunity to interact with Keshri Nath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal and visited the Raj Bhavan.
To ignite the scientific acumen, the students also visited the Technological Park and the Centre for Excellence at Kolkata.
They also played a friendly football match at sports facility of JRD TATA Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.
This tour has provided the students of Senapati an opportunity to interact, learn and educate other children about the tradition and custom of each other as well as also gave an insight of the way of life in other parts of the country.
During the interaction with the students the Commander, Senapati Brigade brought out that these children are the building blocks of the country and need to be nurtured for a better future of the State.
He added that the security forces are committed to provide them the best exposure to broaden their horizon through such Military Civic Action projects.
The Commander, Senapati Brigade also gave the certificate of appreciation to all the students of The National Integration Tour.
The students thanked the Red Shield Division for giving them such a unique opportunity, the statement added.
