"The State lies at the corridor of the infamous Golden Triangle but if we are determined to stand guarded against drug abuse we could succeed," he said.
"Let us go ahead to build a drug free society for the future and generation of the people," Prof Sarma added.
Invited speaker Manglemjao said that the clean India Swachh Bharat campaign applies to both the surrounding and the body.
Even when the surroundings are clean and the body is not healthy the campaign would not be of any use, he added.
"When we relate and apply what education has taught us in our day-today life, we would definitely have a quality based society," Manglemjao said.
He further said that such campaign would only succeed when everyone takes part and do their own little part for the betterment of the society.

In a traditional Manipuri society, there has been mind altering drugs, but were always put under check by the norms of the society.
By the late 70s drug abuse had taken a strong hold on the youth.
There is a strong need to organise awareness campaigns like today, he added.
Furthermore he said that more campaigns and awareness programme among the youth of the society could bring down the number of drug abuse and substance abuse.
The one day campaign was attended by students from different colleges of Manipur and the participants took a pledge against drugs and pollution free Swachh Bharat.
