Two day Udyam registration begins

Imphal, August 29 2026: A two day Udyam registration cum awareness programme for Yaiskul Constituency began today at the residence of Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata at Brahmapur Bheigyabati Leikai.

Udyam registration is an online system used to officially recognize and register Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) .

The programme was jointly organised by the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industry and Better Yaiskul, Addressing the function, Aheibam Loken, General Manager of the District Industries Centre, Imphal West, said that Udyam registration is necessary for availing the benefits of various schemes under the Ministry of MSME.

He said that the two-day programme would teach participants how to register for Udyam and the benefits of obtaining registration He appealed to unemployed youth to register for Udyam and avail themselves of benefits such as loans to become successful entrepreneurs.

Loken further said that those who have registered can apply for loans of up to Rs 50 lakh under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) .

He said that the scheme provides loans of up to Rs 50 lakh for manufacturing units and up to Rs 20 lakh for service and business activities, with subsidies of 35 per cent in rural areas and 25 per cent in urban areas.
