Imphal, July 29 2026: In a 2022 POCSO case, a Fast Track Special Court has convicted a 40-year-old man and issued a warrant of arrest against him today.

The man, convicted for sxually assualting a 4-year-old girl in December 2022, is identified as Ahongshanbam Naobi Singh of Khongjom Khebaching, Thoubal.

Naobi was working as a labourer and staying at a Khola room when he sexually assaulted the minor daughter of one of his colleagues on December 16, 2022.Announcing the conviction of Naobi under Section 6 of POCSO Act 2012 today, Judge RK Memcha noted that the accused was avoiding Court appearance, and issued a Warrant of Arrest.

The sentence hearing shall be taken up as and when the accused is produced or appears before the Court, stated the Judge.
