Khelen Thokchom remembered on birth anniversary

Imphal, October 27 2025: Khelen Thokchom Trust (KTT) observed the 65th birth anniversary of late senior journalist Khelen Thokchom at his Tera Tongbram Leikai residence in Imphal West today.

Members of KTT and family members took part in the simple but meaningful observation.

KTT president Robert Sapam and wife of the late scribe Thokchom ongbi Memcha Devi led the floral tribute ceremony to the portrait of the late journalist located at the courtyard.

Khelen passed away on April 1, 2018 .

During his tenure as journalist he served as the Special Correspondent of The Telegraph and Correspondent of Sunday magazine.

He was also the founding Editor of The Sangai Express.

The Khelen Thokchom Media Fellowship programme launched in 2018 to fulfil at least some of the wishes of the late journalist to promulgate quality journalism has been suspended since 2023-24 .
