Senapati holds preparatory meet for 80th Independence Day celebration

Senapati, July 24 2026: A preparatory meeting for the forthcoming 80th Independence Day celebration was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, on Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S.The meeting reviewed arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the district-level celebration.

Discussions, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Adahrii Maheo, the overall in-charge of the celebration, focused on inter-departmental coordination, security, venue preparation, parade management, cultural programmes, traffic regulation, medical assistance, sanitation, power and water supply, and other logistical requirements.

A district-wide cleanliness drive will also be conducted as part of the preparations.

During the meeting, all District Level Officers were directed to submit the names of deserving staff members for Commendation Certificates in recognition of their outstanding service.

It was also announced that two football matches would be organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Addressing the meeting, DC Dharun Kumar urged all departments to work in close coordination and complete their assigned responsibilities well in advance to ensure that the 80th Independence Day celebration is conducted in a befitting, peaceful and successfill manner.

The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Senapati, Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir; Divisional Forest Officer Shanngam S; Project Director, DRDA, PP Ronald; Sub-Divisional Officers; District Level Officers; and representatives of various government departments, who shared inputs on preparations under their respective departments.
