KVK Thoubal honoured with best KVK award

In a significant recognition of its outstanding contribution to the field of agriculture and rural development, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Thoubal has been conferred the prestigious "Best KVK Award (Manipur)" for the year 2024-25 .
Adding further pride to the district, Akoijam Deben Singh, a progressive farmer from Thoubal district, was also honoured with the Best Innovative Farmer Award "Krishi Gaurav" for his outstanding innovations and efforts in agrientrepreneurship.
The award were presented to KVK Thoubal Head and senior scientist, Dr Jeshmani Sarangthem and Akoijam Deben Singh by Meghalaya's Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Minister, Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh, ICAR-VII Umiam, Meghalaya Director, Dr AK Mohanty, and ICAR, New Delhi Assistant Director General, Dr RR Burman during the foundation day celebration of ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone VII held at Umiam in Meghalaya.
The KVK Thoubal was recognised for its widespread dissemination of location-specific, cutting-edge agricultural technologies, fostering farm innovations, and delivery of impactful extension services to the farming communities of Thoubal district.
Akoijam Deben, a progressive farmer under KVK Thoubal, also known for innovating the "Furrow maker fitted to Power tiller or Tractor" was also honoured with the "Best Innovative Farmer Award "Krishi Gaurav" by ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam in recognition of his outstanding contribution to encouraging and guiding the youths towards agri-business ventures.
