Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 : Swachhata student camp, cleanliness drive conducted

A two-day Swachhata Student Camp was inaugurated today at Jubilee Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
The camp was organised by the Swachhata Action Plan (SAP) 2025-26 Committee as a part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal, and Prof Y Govindaraj Singh, Nodal Officer, SAP/Kayakalp, RIMS, Imphal among others.
During the event, experts delivered talks on radiation precautions, e-waste management, hygiene, safe disposal of medicines, and environmental cleanliness.
Dr Sunil Kumar highlighted the 11-year impact of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the ban on plastic bottles at RIMS since October 2023, and urged students to adopt sustainable, healthy, and drug-free lifestyles.
Pooja Elangbam, Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, also interacted with the campers.
She emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices and urged students to become ambassadors of cleanliness and hygiene in their communities.
An E-waste extempore speech competition was also conducted, participated by over 200 students from across the State.
Moreover, 143 Battalion CRPF also organised a cleanliness drive under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign at Shri Mahabali Hanuman Temple, Imphal today.
The drive witnessed active participation of Ravinder Sharma, Commandant, 143 BN CRPF and jawans of the Unit along with Temple Committee members.
