Installation of Smart Prepaid Meters under RDSS Scheme to commence from July 21

Imphal, July 19 2025: In continuation of efforts to improve power supply reliability and enhance consumer services, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) is undertaking the installation of Smart Prepaid Meters under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) across the Division Imphal Electrical Division-III.

As per a release issued by MSPDCL, the installation work is being executed by M/s Sangai Smart Metering Pvt Ltd, the authorized agency selected by MSPDCL .

The installation work in respect of Heirangoithong and Singjamei feeders under Singjamei Sub-Division will commence from July 21, 2025 onwards.

MSPDCL has urged all consumers under Singjamei Sub-Division to extend full cooperation to the installation team at the time of execution of the work.

MSPDCL also informed the public that no charges shall be collected from consumers for the installation of smart meters; and during the visit, the installation team shall also distribute pamphlets to spread awareness regarding the smart meter usage, recharge process, and benefits.

Highlighting that the installation team is strictly authorized only for meter installation, MSPDCL urged all the consumers not to assign any other work to the installation personnel.

Furthermore, MSPCL encouraged all consumers to use the 'Urja Seva Sangai' App or 'MSPDCL Smart Meter' App to track real-time electricity usage, balance, and recharge status.
