Music programme, eye check-up camp held at Old Age Home

As part of the worldwide observance of 'Week of Service', the Lions Club of Imphal, Lions Club of Imphal Valley, Lions Club of Imphal North and Lions Club of Imphal Valley Nextgen jointly organised a music programme as therapeutic session for "Mental Health and Well-Being" at Old Age Home, Mongsangei.
As per a release issued by the Lions Club of Imphal, the programme was conducted by Dr Rajkumar Satyaditya, Hindustani music vocalist and Visiting Faculty, Manipur University of Culture.
Dr Satyaditya explained with demonstration, the quality of various 'raags' and compositions in improving mental health if 'we' listen to them regularly for a reasonable period of time.
He continued that if practiced with sincerity, soothing music is akin to meditation for achieving mental peace and containment.
During the session, solo instrumental music compositions were also played.
Akham Jullie Devi and Nancy Yaithingbam presented devotional songs for the listening pleasure of the residents of the Home.
Later, an Eye Check-up Camp was also organised in connection with the observance of World Sight Week, 2025 .
B Sanamacha, secretary of the Old Age Home, appreciated the Lions Clubs and Dr Satyaditya for taking up the important projects for the welfare of the senior citizens living in the Home.
