Imphal, May 11 2026: Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup (NLANL) observed its 12th Foundation Day on Monday at the Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club.

The programme was attended by dignitaries, including NLANL president Yumlembam Merna Leima, All Manipur Social Reformation & Development Samaj president Thokchom Ramani, AMKIL president Lourembam Nganbi, All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Lup president Yambem Momon, NIMPAL president Thingbaijam Ibeyaima, ANUL Bishnupur president Lourembam Pramo, Thoubal Ima president Kh Mema, MACHALEIMA president W Amusana, and EECHAN president Tongbram Premita.

NLANL celebrates 12th Foundation Day

Speaking on the occasion, NLANL general secretary Nongthombam Radhamani said the Lup was formed to unite meira paibi groups across different areas and strengthen their collective voice.

"Since its inception, the Lup has taken part in various State issues.

It has also worked with CADA to conduct awareness programmes against drug and alcohol abuse in the State", she added.

Referring to the violence since May 3, 2023, Radhamani said many lives have been lost and many houses burned.

"Mothers have been demanding justice, but Central and State forces are using tear gas and mock bombs against unarmed women protesters.

We condemn this", she said.

She also cited the Tronglaobi incident, where two children were killed in alleged firing by Kuki militants, and the subsequent protest in which three persons were killed after CRPF opened fire.

She demanded justice for those killed and asked whether any action had been taken against those responsible.

"Ensure justice for all victims", she said.
