Imphal, February 11, 2011:
The All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU) decried that no remarkable development can be seen in Tamenglong district due to the presence of various anti-social elements and negligence on the part of the government even after six decades have passed since the independence of India.
AZSU's press release stated that Tamenglong lacks development in social, religious and economics aspects induced by deplorable transport and communication systems.
Some self centered individuals have compromised with the public interest for their personal gains.
It is high time for the general public to rethink and examine without giving any room for such anti social activities.
It further stated that a large amount has been sanctioned under the North Eastern Council (NEC) for the construction of the road from Tamei to Tamenglong stretch.
Any organisation causing hindrances to such developmental work will be construed as anti-Zeliangrong' and the AZSU will counteract and intervene such anti social elements to safeguard the larger public interest, it warned.
It also informed that the the union will be organizing its 34th General Dimki Session from February 23 to 25, 2011 at Ze-Yangkhullen, Senapati district and informed the Zeliangrong people to participate in the session.
