Imphal, July 10 2025: In a major political development, many well known influential members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), National People's Party (NPP) and Janata Dal (United) joined the Indian National Congress (INC) in Singjamei Assembly Constituency today.

The new supporters of the Congress party were accorded a warm welcome and felicitated with the party shawl during a programme held at the residence of Oinam Romen, PCC member, Member Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), in Singjamei Oinam Thingel today.

The reception programme organised by Singjamei Block Congress Committee was graced by dignitaries, including Kshetrimayum Ninita Devi, president, Singjamei Block Congress Committee; Kakchingtabam Jayananda Sharma, former president, City District Congress Committee; Khumanlambam Haradhara, former president, Singjamei Block Congress Committee; and RK Sachi, former Councillor, Imphal Municipal Corporation.

As part of the event, responsibilities were rendered to the executive members of Singjamei Block Mahila Congress Committee.

Meanwhile, a reception programme to welcome newly enrolled members of Manipur Peoples Party (MPP) was held today at the party's office in Imphal.

The new members who joined the MPP are - Thokchom Jotin Singh (Khurai AC), Elangbam Sovid Singh (Khundrakpam AC), Henam Lenindro, Waikhom Ananda and Yumnam Chittarajan (Khurai AC) .

The programme was graced by MPP president S Brojen Mangang and other senior members of the party.
