The Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur informing that the federation and Manipur State Pensioners' Union (MSPU) would be joining the Nationwide strike called by All India State Government Employees Federation on May 20 concerning several pressing issues.
In the memorandum, the MGSF stated that the decision was taken during the Joint Executive Committee Meeting held on May 5, 2025.However, keeping in view of the disturbed condition of the State it was also decided that instead of full-scale strike only symbolic protest shall be staged on that day.

It also demanded release of pending DA instalments and arrears; comprehensive health insurance scheme for employees and workers; abandonment of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2019; repeal of constitutional provisions Article 310 and 311(2)(a)(b)(c); redefining Centre-State financial relations to safeguard cooperative federalism.
