TLL thanks CADA for facilitating successful implementation of double cropping

Thoubal, May 09 2026: Farmers have successfully implemented a double cropping system across approximately 100 paris of agricultural land at Tekcham Tentha Loukol in Tekcham Makha, Thoubal district.

In view of this agricultural triumph, the Tekcham Lournee Lup has extended its gratitude to the Command Area Development Authority (CADA) who provided invaluable help to the farmers in this regard.

Assessing the farming assistance provided by CADA at Tekcham Tentha Loukol, Tekcham Loumee Lup secretary H Herojit shared important insights about the success story.

According to him, farmers were unable to grow their crops properly at Tekcham Tentha Loukol during the last few years due to repeated flooding.

To combat this problem, the farmers tried their hand at the practice of double cropping.

However, due to multiple shortcomings, their efforts did not see much success.

Under such circumstances, the farmers requested CADA for help this year.

Under the leadership of CADA Executive Engineer Y Sunibala, 300 metre long field channels and field drains were constructed and soil levelling work was carried out at Tekcham Tentha Loukol.

These activities have helped previously cut off farmlands to gain access to irrigation/water and additionally helped easily inundated fields to divert water away from the crops.

With this water regulation mechanism, double cropping has been successfully carried out at Tekcham Tentha Loukol, said the Tekcham Loumee Lup secretary.

On behalf of Tekcham Loumee Lup, he thanked the staff and Executive Engineer Y Sunibala of CADA.

He urged CADA to continue extending such assistance to the farmers.
