MTU signs MoU with Langyai Ventures for startup incubation

Imphal, September 04 2026: In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the higher education sector of the State aimed at establishing a startup incubation framework, Manipur Technical University (MTU) and Langyai Ventures Pvt Ltd have signed a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU is said to be the first such agreement between a private company and a university in the State.

The MoU was signed between Vice-Chancellor Prof W Chandbabu on behalf of the university and Administrative Director of Langyai Ventures Pvt Ltd Hidam Bonyson.

Speaking on the signing, Bonyson said the MoU primarily focuses on startup incubation and field training.

Under the MoU, students will undergo a 28-day internship programme, industry experts will assist in developing BTech Civil Engineering curriculum and collaborate with MTU.

He added that beyond providing employment to students, the initiative aims to support them to become job creators.
