Imphal, January 04 2026:
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Senapati, organised a two-day awareness campaign on "Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)" (VB-G RAM-G) on January 3 & 4, 2026, at the KVK campus and various villages across Senapati district, participated by about 250 villagers.
Addressing the gathering, Dr N Jyotsana, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Senapati, highlighted the key features of the newly enacted VB-G RAM-G scheme.
She stated that the scheme enhances guaranteed employment from 100 to 125 days per rural household annually and there will be 60-day 'agricultural pause' during peak sowing and harvesting seasons to ensure adequate availability of agricultural labour during farming operations.
Dr Jyotsana further informed that VB-G RAM-G will be implemented as a centrally sponsored scheme with a funding pattern of 90:10 for North-Eastern and Himalayan States and Union Territories, and 60:40 for other States.
The scheme aligns with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, focusing on the creation of durable and climate-resilient assets while linking wage employment with long-term rural development outcomes.
Subject Matter Specialists of KVK, including Dr David Kamei, Dr N Muhindro Singh, Dr Telem Ratan Singh and B Khogen Sharma of Thambal Leima Mycelia, Imphal, spoke on various agriculture-related topics for the benefit of the participating farmers.
During the programme at KVK Senapati campus, Chokhone Krichena, a floriculturist from Senapati district whose name was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 129th episode of Mann Ki Baat on December 28, 2025, was felicitated for her achievements and being a role model for the tribal youth, especially women farmers of the district.
A Sarpanch Sammelan cum Walking Seminar was also organised as part of the campaign.
Hoardings, banners and posters highlighting the VB-G-RAM-G awareness campaign were displayed at public places across different villages.
