MU, INTI International University ink MoU to strengthen academic cooperation

Imphal, September 03 2026: Manipur University and INTI International University, Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to strengthen academic cooperation through joint research, student and faculty exchanges, internships and collaborative programmes.

The MoU was signed virtually.

Prof M Premjit Singh, Registrar, signed on behalf of Manipur University while Prof Dr Goh Khang Wen, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Global Engagement, signed for INTI International University.

MU Vice Chancellor Prof RK Hemakumar Singh, Dean School of Social Sciences Prof Memcha Loitongbam and Director, International Relations and Collaborations Centre, INTI .

Prof Dr Asokan Vasudevan signed as witnesses.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof RK Hemakumar Singh welcomed the collaboration and said it would complement Manipur University's implementation of NEP 2020 by offering internships and exchange opportunities.

He thanked INTI leadership for facilitating the MoU .

Prof Dr Goh Khang Wen said INTI is seeking active partnerships that produce tangible benefits.

He said areas of engagement include research collaboration, student mobility, visiting scholars, joint conferences and possible degree collaborations.

He said INTI can accommodate up to 20 exchange students per semester with tuition fee waiver and free accommodation, with a visa fee of 1,500 Malaysian Ringgit.

He also highlighted INTI's QS 4 Star rating, 406th global and 102nd Asia ranking, and offered online learning opportunities and knowledge-sharing on rankings.

Director, Manipur Institute of Management Studies Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei highlighted scope for cooperation in joint research, publications and seminars across science and technology, finance, social sciences and liberal arts.

The MoU provides a framework for cooperation in liberal arts, business management, entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, social sciences and humanities, including incubation centres, skill development, sustainable development goals and responsible tourism.

Others present included Prof Angom Dilip Kumar Singh, Director R&D Cell; Prof Mayanglambam Lilee Devi, Director Centre for Women Studies; Dr Sakila Nongmeikapam, PRO from MU and Dr Tafara Mudzengi, Assistant Manager.
